just checked easyjet website, London Luton to Mallorca on 30 April, return on 6 May, costs 89.96£ (total cost) per one adult person, lasts almost 3 hours, 1.5 hour is to northern Spain only;
the same days, Jet2, Leeds - Malaga 150£, over 3 hours;
Joho, where do you buy red peppers for 4$? in chinatown? i saw there cheaper for 3$ but moulded;
cars - for my 17 years old suzuki i paid 2500$, in the UK for 1200£ i could buy suzuki 7 years old, and much lower mileage;

Our house in the UK rents for 550 GBP. And we haven't put the rent up in 4 years because it needs a bit of work.
The $410 we pay now is locked in for a year and we have only just taken it on after 2 years at $350. So it is only very recently that the situation has started to deteriorate - and I'd argue that this house is better than ours in the UK.

I'm starting to get the wobbles about emigrating too.
It's not all about money for me but money has to factor in somehow.
We re not one of these families lucky enough to emigrate with lots of money.
We'll need a hefty mortgage just like we do here. The difference being that here the interest rates are quite a bit lower.
Our house is actually worth £15000 less than we thought when we started planning for Australia and that is making a huge difference to us.
We now know that we'll have to leave the dog behind as a) we can't afford to ship her over and b)we'll need every advantage in securing a rental.
I'm looking out of my window now and it's a beautiful day here.
Of course I'm now wondering what advantages there will be in emigrating.

Umm.... can I just say... we are better off here financially then we were in the UK (despite exchange rate, housing costs etc.)

Stay there. Or at least ask yourself some very hard questions.
