Can't find the book at the moment and can not remember specifically what documents where referenced so I'd guess, and half remember, standard genealogical stuff - church records; birth, christening, marriage. Don't remember any reference to a passenger manifest - wasn't so interested in his escape as his subsequent exploits.

If it is fantasy then it is not mine - just what I have read from the family history and seen, in person, written on a tombstone, referencable by way of a photograph.

Great-great-great-grand-father (I think). He was a shepard for a large land owner for a while and also squatted on what was to become his property. Made enough money in the goldfields to buy the farm title from the company and added to the property over the years building the beginnings of a sheep stud. My life has been on the line to find the minerals you cushy enthnos take for granted, even despise, and I've created enough small business to be significant. So I'd say yes.

That us 'cushy enthnos' (!) take minerals for granted, except when we are despising them?!
I can't say have spoken to that many people who have a deep seated hatred of coal.

If that is the case then you have every right to be proud of yourself and your heritage, but lay off the ethno crap and get real. Australia, or modern Australia anyway, is a country built by migrants, we're only separated by 4 generations. I love living here and am happy and proud to pay my taxes etc, and so are most Brits that make the move. You do seem to have a massive chip on your shoulder for whatever reason, but migrants aren't to blame for that.
