Chip on left shoulder? Nope. Right? None. All done checking.

So why don't the British stop all the hubris about what their great-great-great-grand-fathers did? Why do enthocentric Brits feel so compelled to presume to tell Australians how to live in their own country? And why do they wither and complain when told to shove their un-welcome, self-serving, ill-considered in-appropriate advice?

You again. Listen, we are having a private, British, conversation about how we built Australia. We don't need any of you colonial types at the moment thanks.... go and stand outside. We will shout you if you are needed.

It really would be a sad & backward world indeed, if nobody listened to ideas of how things could be improved, especially if they have been tried & tested elsewhere! This is applicable whichever country you are in or from!

Don't be a total arse!

I think a FEW do. Just like a FEW Aussies do the same in the UK. Me? I love it here and love the Aussies although, like Britain a FEW people can get all bent out of shape and twisted, leading them to have bizzare opinions and blinkered views. I see no reason to feel bad because my forefathers created the biggest Empire history has ever seen and brought the world on leaps and bounds in a few short years. If Australians had achieved 1/1000th of what Britain has done, you would bang the drum too Be glad that Britain made the fantastic country that Australia is today!

Why don't you stop comemorating Anzac day then, afterall it wasn't YOU who fought and died in the war. Bugger all wrong with celebrating your history mate, it's all about showing respect for others traditions etc. Wouldn't mind betting you were only 1st or 2nd generation Aussie, they always seem to be the really bigoted ones on the odd occasion I come accross em

If ideas have been tried and tested and seem appropriate then get on with actually trying and testing them in Australia.

Basically, don't be an arse - get off your arse.

Do you have any concept whatsoever of Australia's history?

Idea's tried and tested... you mean like Australia's democratic systems.. legal systems... and countless other systems based on the UK model?

Wrong. Great-great-great-grand-father emigrated from Kent and alighted from the Royal Admiral on 1838/Jan/18 or so his tomb stone reads.
