Quote from a repeat of Aussie comedy "Kingswood Country (currently on the TV) "He even tried to have daylight saving time banned cos the extra daylight fades the Kingswood while its parked in the driveway ...."

I suppose it is something one just gets used to. When I was living in Perth a few years ago, that was the one thing I missed about Ireland, longer days in the summer. I was always amazed how quickly the sun set in Perth. I used to cycle to and from work, but was reluctant in the winter because it would be quite dark sometimes on the way back, but it might be a bit better now when I get back next year!

The problem with a lot of Perthites is that they are so used to doing the same boring thing for donkeys years and any suggestion of change/improvements like daylight saving, extended shopping hours are moaned about!

I was talking to a woman in IGA the other day and she was complaining that they now eat dinner at 8.30 pm- why?
Is it becuase they 'have' to eat their evening meal in the dark?
Can't understand the mentality!
I think it's great, kids are in the pool longer and able to go for walks etc after tea.

My kids are were waking up when the sun came up (5.00am)
, regardless of what time they went to bed. Now they wake an hour later, so it can't be all bad.
We have been here for almost 10 months and they have already forgotten that summer in the UK meant going to bed when it was still light, how quickly they forget!
