Thanks bc. Might have to look at that instead. Business to RAR for 525 USD plus tax is too good to pass up. I'm resigned to not being able to get 3 business seats BNE-LHR now so will just try to use these promos to go other places.

I got business on the direct flight to Raro and then via Auckland on the way back. That worked out fine and spending a few hours in the nice Air NZ business lounge was no hardship. Air NZ are a pretty good airline.

It's definitely possible to get 3 seats BNE-LHR...you just might need to put 2 on hold and then see if more are released. Common strategy with TG.

IF you were to put a couple on hold and you chose not to use them, do you inform US Airways or just let them get released back after the 3 (?) days?
Shame we need a 3rd seat as our boy is less than 2 years old but as he weighs as much as a small car, you couldn't do the trip with him on your lap.....

The booking will be cancelled automatically if not ticketed within the time limits...probably varies between airlines but 3ish days normally.

Just FYI if you have an infant don't book any of the flights on Thai operated by the 777 with the flat beds / suites in first (currently Paris & one daily Frankfurt flight). Apparently infants & young children are not allowed in business in these aircraft for safety reasons - something to do with the seat set up. Might explain my friends mysterious upgrade to F when they flew FRA-BKK.

Thanks for the heads up. I thought it was a 777-300ER on the BNE run so might run into problems with this anyway? Thouight they only had these plus some -200s.

Ditto, we went Business last year and are looking at First for next year. Since there is nothing higher than First we will obviously give up travelling after that!
