KVS is a tool you install, not a website.
It is much better than Aeroplan although effectively all it does is offer the good functionality of the ANA website without its clunkiness. It can also scrape data from Aeroplan if you prefer.
This might be a better option for many:

I'm sure it must be effectively scraping the same data and using the same methods as KVS. It also allows those annoying mixed class options to be filtered out of the results. Once again SEARCHING SEGMENT BY SEGMENT IS BEST.

Has anyone had success getting flights to North America? We're due to visit the in-laws in Montreal next year and it seems to be difficult getting decent flights.

Air NZ is a problem as I think they recently implemented an upgrade system for Airpoints members and so I reckon a lot of their inventory gets held back for last minute upgrades. Transpac from AKL has always been tricky anyway.
It's generally quite easy to get availability to NA the long way via Asia AFAIK.

We booked a ticket MEL-AKL-SFO-ORD and return for one person on Air NZ and US (I think, can't be sure of the domestic carrier any more since I didn't get to go!) travelling May 2011 with ease. I think we booked only a couple of months in advance. Air NZ was apparently fantastic.
Whenever I've looked since, for friends, I found availability hard to find but not impossible. Wasn't always straightforward though.

I resubscribed to KVS because that was what I used last time and found easy to use - there may be equivalent free sites out there but I went with what I know.

Can anyone confirm, that on the Star Alliance member travel chart, Australia/NZ comes under 'South Pacific'?

Sorry, also forgot to ask if there is any way of knowing what 'area' certain destinations would come under; I was reading that someone had booked a flight to the Cook Islands, and although I can look it up on a map, Star Alliance may class it under another not so obvious area... hope I make sense?!

So it can be done! I was thinking about just getting some points to do a trip to the Cook Islands but after searching for a while I was unable to come up with any Business flights between AUK and RAR. Did you find it difficult to get the flights?
