My point was as Mark suggests.. but I was also referring to classifying what is negative as opposed to what is positive.
The fact we are on an Aussie forum, and the thread title, Anything Negative !! , to me implies, compared to the UK as it was by a United Kingdom poster.
So by stating that women swear, traffic lights etc..
to me anyway, infers that its a negative in oz compared to the uk.
Apologies if I have the wrong end of the stick.
But surely wouldnt a negative of Australia be..
distances for commuting
humid weather in summer
etc.

I accordingly replied.
You replied making comparisons to the UK about my comments and then getting a tad personal.
I replied in kind.
Let's leave it at that.

Illness and death of loved ones whilst i am miles away is something i have thought long and hard about as my grandad is 80. But when the time comes for someone to pass away there is nothing you can do however close to them you are.

Negatives ... okay
1) I'm still not far enough away from the in-laws.
2) The beautiful unspoilt stretch of beach 7 miles long which is lapped by the crystal clear bluey waters of the Pacific Ocean, which is just 10 minutes walk from my front door ... only has good surfable waves every couple of weeks.
3) Last weekend, with the temps a perfect 27 degrees, we were having a barbeque by our beautiful Shoalhaven river on the well designed public barbeque as the kids splashed about in the water - and I realised I'd forgotten to bring the tomato sauce.
If I think of some more I'll let you know.

Hi,
Anybody got anything negative to say about life in Oz? It's something we will always regret not emigrating when we had the chance many moons ago. So it will make me feel a little better about the decision if I could read some negative comments. Come on, cheer me up while I look out at pouring rain, pleaaaaase? Anything???

eh?!! Yeah, you know me - its your old mate, Mark !! remember?
Seriously mate. I also live in Queensland. Do you honestly believe that (and I'll quote you, to keep you happy)" The amount of profanities spoken................by ladies! " is a negative ?!!!
I've heard women swear, one or two I know swear a bit more than others...but its never been a big issue for me. Where do you live? As you can see, I'm in brisbane.
cheers

One man's hate can be another man's desire.
For instance I can neither stand the taste or smell of coffee, others will spend most of their lives drinking the stuff.
I also dislike profanities from ladies, you however may dislike bad driving, whereas it does not bother me, some like the heat....others don't etc etc
It is impossible to compartmentalise anything, you can please some of the people some of the time.........etc etc.
Perhaps it is a personal thing and therefore IMVHO only I find
The amount of profanities spoken................by ladies!
Enough said.
BTW I am in the GC

Left some peas and four bean mix out, went off to watch a Bob Dylan DVD and the ants have infested it.

parrots crapping on your balcony
the sun burns you in minutes
bad drivers...seen more accidents and had more idiots almost hitting me (and one that did) in 7 months than i did in 15 years in the UK.
If you have kids then the effing and blinding and the erection adverts on TV during the day.. no watershed here
leaves..
bush fires
drought and floods on a big scale
price of bananas, lettuce etc
the fact that Australia keeps beating England at most things
On the bright side, i love it here

Negative.. mmm, let me think.
I don't like the merge from the right hand side into a road.
<really thinking hard>
Um... really like the wine, weather, food, attitude (where I live), a bra is called a bra here, I like the people, I like the wildlife.... I love the good coffee, don't mind the money at all.. it's nice to earn some..
I like the schools here, how happy my kids are, my friends...
I grow my own lettuce, don't fret about bananas and eat pineapples all the time... don't watch TV really much at all and it's not ever on during the day... Wear sunscreen as standard and don't even think about putting it on any more... don't find shopping a problem, I eat Lindt 70% cocoa chocolate ...
Look, I'm not very good at this.
Ask someone else.
