Take my word for it, your wasting your time trying to ship a case of something that you can easily get here. As they say "same shit different bucket"
Can I get someone to back me up please!!!
"...There is also an imported version called "Our Mate" which is produced by Unilever in the UK. These are also sold in the 125g size, and look identical to UK Marmite except for the name. The taste is also identical to UK Marmite. The label states "Made in the UK by Unilever Bestfoods"."

"Marmite as we know and love it is made at Burton on Trent, the exact same product can be found in Australia and NZ under the name of Our Mate! Made in Burton we just can't use the Marmite name, someone else owns it!! "

It's made by Sanitarium, which is an Australian company founded in 1898 by the Seventh Day Adventist church.
Sanitarium originally imported British Marmite, then later received a license to sell it Down Under, and finally developed a formula of its own in the 1930s.
I've heard that Sanitarium Marmite is made in NZ, but I don't know how true that is.

I brought a jar of Marmite over for my sister. I declared it at customs and it was all good and we were allowed to keep it
I can't see why it would be a problem in a container, as long as it is sealed and declared on the form.
BTW I used to hate Vegemite, but now love it on toast. My baby and I had that for our lunch today.

Yep - it's exactly the same - it's shipped from the same factory in the UK. It has to have a different name because Marmite is already used out here for another product (someone put a picture of it up!!!).
I paid $3.49 (I think) for a 125g jar in my local Coles a couple of weeks ago. So it's more expensive that Vegimite, but much less expensive than buying imported Marmite in the British shops.
If you are shipping it you need to check out the best before dates. If you ship a huge quantity and are planning on using it yourself, you may find it's gone off before you get to use it.

If you wanted to compare at todays exchange rate your jar of Aussie marmite would cost you £0.98 or half the price of your Tesco one. It's on just about every supermarket chain's shelves. I can't understand why you would ship over something you can already buy cheaper here. It's the genuine stuff too not the Aussie equivalent.
Now if it were proper mint sauce you were shipping and not the syrupy sweet jelly they sell here I could understand 100%

I shall send our friends out to hunt it down!! We saw it in a shop in Glenelg but it was VERY expensive cant remember the exact price but worked out about £6 a pot and not a very big pot at that!!

They sell My Mate (Marmite) in the imported food section of our local Coles. It isn't too dear.

In my local Coles it's sold in the health food section. It's not with all the other similar products like vegimite etc.
Hope that helps
