We have bought our house in Tassie and are waiting to sell here in Perth before we can get there. I am an impatient gal so have been applying for jobs and have been amazed that people are ringing me in Perth already! Unfortunately as I need at least 1-2 months before I get there it is too long for them, but it really tells me that the workforce must be pretty desperate if they are ringing interstate for administrative workers. Hobart and Launceston are the main places for hospitals for the lady that was asking, Hobart would be better for skilled workers. And yes there apparently is a drastic shortage of skilled workers.

Just been looking at flights it seems you can only fly into Hobart from Perth? So I guess you maybe fly to Melbourne from Perth then change to go to Devonport? I know there is an airport there...but cant find any flights??
Can anyone help?

We flew into Hobart I thought they all did! Maybe the one at devonport is too small.

By the way, do you of good places to stay, will be in Hobart area for 2/3 days and in Freycinet too, not sure about rest.

Although I havn't been, but if your in Hobart on a Saturday I'm told there is a fabulous market at Salamanca. Even if there isn't a market on, its worth a visit very lovely area nice bars, restaurants and shops. I was very drawn to the harbour in Hobart its very beautiful. Also not far from Hobart is a place called the Huonne Trail that has some lovely places to go to including the Tahune airwalk (not sure of all my spelling by the way!) Its where you get to walk above the trees its breathtaking! We didn't go to Freycinet but Lonely Planet to a guide to Tasmania, It has lots of helpful info.
