Re: Air Con - Which is best?
hi Tia,
I would go for Ducted reverse cycle.
There are some greater soft start and inverter models on the market now.
We are having the final on our ducted be done this tuesday lol ( been living in house 6 mths )
We have the Daikin, non inverter. With 8 zones, and climate / independant control in each room.
Make sure you tell the guys, that the drip tray is absolutely level. Also that ( if you are on tank water ) dont discharge the evaporative water to your gutters.
Also put the outdoor unit on the shadier side of the house.
< air con installer but i dont do ducted
Good luck Ste

Re: Air Con - Which is best?
Out of all those who have air con, could you say which you have from the list (or something different if I have missed anything out) and also what you feel the advantages/disadvantages are i.e efficiency/cost effectiveness, how good it does the job etc.
We will be moving into our new house around September time, and all it will have is batt insulation, which I know for a fact will not be much good for cooling/keeping the place warm.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated, as at the moment we have an idea of what we may go for, but need to look at other options,
TIA

So its not too exy for us. It's a backup incase we don't get around to lighting the fire, and with 2 babies we needed it.

Like Wol said, depends where you are.
We are SW WA, it gets cold here at nights in winter, OK not to -3 like it did in the UK but it still feels cold. We will be getting ducted gas heating installed for next winter, cant stand another one like we just had...
