Bet you bake in that heat outdoors! So much better than freezing to death!

Thanks to everyone for their replies - sounds blissful.
It's so strange how in the UK we all wish it was 20 degrees at least and when you move to Oz - 20 degrees is too cold!
Here's to the weather getting better in the UK for now!!

We don't have aircon and a pool in our very old (1880s) house, so we aren't so keen on the hot days as other people are! How we cope:
1. Pray for cool weather when the temps hit 40 plus
2. Sit with feet in a bucket of iced water (my version of a swimming pool)
3. Eat lots of ice cream
4. Have lots of showers
5. Spend more time at work where there is aircon
6. Get in the car and switch aircon on
But seriously, some of the things that have really helped have been to use blinds to block out every bit of light coming through the windows and keeping doors and windows shut during the day to keep in the cool air (rather then letting the warm air in from outside). Even if there's a bit of a breeze it tends to be a hot one like a hairdryer, so doesn't cool the house down. When we first arrived I used to throw open the windows and doors like we did in England on a hot day, even if the sun was belting down, and our house would end up like a furnace. It can still get pretty hot (friends over from the UK found it hard to cope with at night) but we're coping better.
It makes me laugh when I hear people saying how much they love the hot weather, only to discover the only time they venture out of their aircon cooled houses is to buy a paper from the corner shop or similar!
