Hello All,
I haven't forgotten about this thread there have just been a couple of other things that I have been paramount this week, not least the ups and downs of the dollar. My CPU has been playing up and I have been unable to load any pics it's still knackered but I have managed to get the pics on.
We went up 2 weekends ago and the front balcony arch as well as the back balcony pillars are now in place. Last weekend was very busy so we didn't get up there, we should see some exciting changes when we go up on Saturday.

We have now reached a very exciting phase in our project our aircon, security and Smart wire companies all called on Thursday to let us know that they will be on site next week and our roof timbers are up. The house feels more like a home now, even though the bricks are still bare etc the 'space' itself has a different energy. Everyone reckons that once the roof tiles go on everything slows down so my posts may become less frequent pretty soon but I will continue to update when we have any significant progress.

looking good Ace...
pardon my ignorance - what's smart wire?
are you going for some type of home automation?

Smart wire is just an integrated pay TV, internet, intercom , home theatre, security and sound system which allows you to connect directly to various services without having to trail wires through the house. It is hard wired so you can plug straight into the wall.

Thanks mate we are really pleased with the progress.

In about 20 years when our boys leave home
mind you it might be longer as our 12 year old said to me the other day is 31 too old to be still living at home
Seriously mate it is not as flash as it sounds, we are only having the Internet, TV and intercom options and we are going to do our own theatre system with wireless speakers and plasma screen rather than going with a hard wired sound system and projector. You can go the whole hog and have hard wired stereo speakers to every room (including the alfresco), security cameras which you can monitor via a live link from work and have the whole system (including lights and air con) hooked up to a console which you can program to come on and go off automatically. Now that is flash.

We just got back from the house and there have been some exciting developments. The roof tiles are onsite and ready to go, the plumber has installed the pipework and the Smart wire company have installed the wiring for the hub and the majority of the plates. The most exciting bit of progress is that the guys have rendered the back of the house and inside the garage.
