Re: zim nationals
I see that the South African government is now blaming the mess in Zimbabwe on Britain. Astonishing but not surprising.
The IMF is predicting that inflation there will hit 100,000% by the end of the year.

15 years.
It is everyone's fault, excepting Uncle Bob's of course, the much beloved leader - he is worshipped by all in Africa, outside of Zims of course.
Gets standing ovations wherever he goes.

and it unfortunately continues to get worse. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/6944028.stm Mbeki is certainly doing a bang up job of quiet diplomacy with his Uncle Bob. You have to wonder if all those Zimbabweans that have crossed over will ever return after Mugabe hits his casket. May it be very soon, and hopefully a full ride to place called hell.

Yesterday on the BBC World Service radio there was an interview with Zim's Information Minister, going on (on an almost inaudible line) about how Zim was thriving, a land of opportunity, and all the negative publicity was just lies.
No doubt there are some people, somewhere, who are taken in by this. Mr 6000 perhaps? Or would that be teasing?

Re: zim nationals
No, redlippie, if they give them refugee status it signifies the following:
1)They acknowledge there is a problem in Zim.
2) They have to do something about it.
3)They have to assume responsibility for the refugees, which is one more desparate group , some with a lot more combat time than 99% of the existing "struggle" heroes and the floodgates open across the border.
They are praying that uncle Bob has a heart attack.
