There are how many people in the United Kingdom?
How many deaths have resulted as a consequence of the tensions between political parties and political ideologies, let alone Remain/Leave?
The man was a nutter. He was a twisted soul who unfairly blamed Jo Cox for closure of his mental health treatment programme and sought mental help the day beforehand. In his warped mind he felt Jo Cox seemed to care more about non-British issues (Syrian refugees, the EU, whatever you have it) than local issues. He was a nutter.
The unfortunate reality is that there will always be nutters among us, just like the nutters who killed Lee Digby. Or the nutter who killed 50 men at a gay club in Florida. It is what it is: a tragedy.
That's all there is to it. I do not have any any belief or expectation that the UK will become a more politically divisive or violent place.

This makes sense. There have been so many unpleasant and divisive comments made by so many that it is hardly surprising that there are consequences.
This has relevance. Every word of James O'Brien's rant about Jo Cox and Britain's political climate is worth listening to

If they can't discern the difference between a one-off incident of a mentally ill man and repeated incidents of people doing things in the name of and, by and large, following what's written in a book believed in by billions of people, then they're part of the problem.

Any act intended to terrorise can be a terrorist act, but the terms 'terrorist' and terrorism have become clearly-defined as referring to to organised groups.

You can call him anything but a 'lone wolf' or 'mentally ill' because that is reserved for muslims that have have nothing to do with islam,,apparently
