Random stuff - the anything else thread

Re: Random stuff - the anything else thread
My home gym is coming together well now, have a treadmill, stationary bike and my new addition of a elliptical machine. Pick up last night for $50. Total $$ spent on my little gym is almost $200 now. Should be worth it when I am recovered and need to keep fit over the winter.

Nice, now get yourself a decent incline bench, dumb bells and a weight set.

That sounds like it might work with pumpkin instead. I was planning pumpkin, cauli and potato curry Saturday following something like this...
Curry
Heat butter in a large pan over medium-high heat, add onion, and cook until golden-brown, about 5 minutes. Add garlic and cook 1 minute more. Stir in curry powder, salt, and pepper. Add pumpkin chunks and potatoes and cook for 5 minutes, stirring frequently. Pour in broth and raisins, cover, and reduce heat to medium. After 15 minutes, add peas. Replace cover and continue to cook until pumpkin and potatoes are tender, 5 to 10 minutes more.
How does yours compare?

Way better
Onions fried. Add mustard seeds and fry till they pop. Garlic and ginger, three piriton piriton peppers. A couple of shovelfuls of Patak's Madras paste.(too lazy to make own stuff today), a couple of shovels of cashew butter. A very long squirt of tomato purée. Stir till it's all mixed up. Add stock, diced squash, mushrooms, can of butter beans. Simmer til it's done. Taste and add stuff as needed.
Drink wine while waiting.
It was yummy.

Shit poor you PP! We are having the nicest fall/autumn since I have been here, it is pleasant, non humid and sunny....if it would just continue like this for a month I wouldn't moan so much. East Coast Canada has a dreadful climate.
All of our Canada Geese have gone. They were causing havoc by crossing the road between Costco and the RCMP for a while, but they finally turned us their toes and flew south. Oddly enough I don't need wings this year...I still don't like it, but am becoming accustomed.
