Spoke to my MP's secretary again the other day for about the 5th time. he phoned Sheffield and asked them to escalate my case through a senior manager. 4 days later they have not phoned him back so even MP,s are being thwarted. I need to keep the pressure on but am aware I also need to keep my MP on my side and not pester him too much.

Finally i got a BIG YES 🎉🎁🎊
Here's my timeline:
STANDARD application from Jakarta, Indonesia
Category A (employment)
19th June - Application online
21st June - Biometric
26th June - Documents sent
27th June - Documents received in Sheffield
28th June - Email confirmation from Sheffield
14th July - Documents returned
25th August (day 48th) - MP involved for escalation
No emails nor calls from HO
13th Sept (day 60th & my birthday) - Called HO and been told decision has been made on 11th Sept (day 58th)
14th Sept - Email from VFS for passport collection
15th Sept - Received passport back with a lovely vignette on it!!
For those who still waiting, i know what a rollercoaster this visa process is, but keep hang in there, keep strong and have a faith! We all getting there!!

Hey guys,just wondering, how do you count the working days? Sensibly it is 5 days a week, but if you check the HO's business hours, they are working Monday to Saturday, thats 6 days a week. So which one is it?

I thought of that too! The press may directly gives them more pressure, it will involve more people, but the applicants are mostly overseas.. like me, i am in Brunei, stuck here, most likely will be overstaying, because i am a malaysian, i only have 3 months to stay here after submitting the application via Brunei. I hv all my reasons to apply through Brunei but then again, the HO is taking their time to make a decision within 60 days, i am now on my 65th working days now, no news at all. In other word, the HO had failed to fulfill their job, should it take longer than 60 working days they should inform applicants why. But they didnt. Now if im thrown in prison for overstaying in another country for their incompetence, i seriously will blame them for it.

Huge sigh of relief - our visa has been granted
90 working days from Havana, Cuba
MP involved and made 5+ calls
Hurricane Irma hit Havana and embassy and help channels closed
Big thanks to this board who kept me sane

I've received the non straightforward message on a Sunday from them which was surprising not sure if that was an automatic send out or if they are in office on Sunday as well. Also anyone with a positive response tried checking the online tracker? Did it work?
Also what is the difference between calling HO and the helpline? Or is it the same?
