I was the only one to require a medical, chest xray, hiv, hep b, hep c tests. My wife didnt need to have the medical, only the hep b test because she is pregnant and going to require hospital treatment. My 2 year old didnt need any testing.
I know someone who went to perth on a 457 visa last week and none of the family required medicals, it depends on your occupation. Going as paramedics requires the full medical.

Go on the australian visa website, it breaks it all down for you.

Hi all

Anyone know when they are opening applications again, they closed on 30th April? In previous years I thought they opened up again almost immediately, just a little panicky my husband has missed the boat (or plane ha).

Thanks in advance

Thanks bigd, I know when we become residents they will all need a med, but wana save the money at the mo, should be earning plenty of money when we're there to pay for them nx year.

Hanna, not sure on job application, I know they wanted 149 paras when I went London last Nov and I know alot of people have gone through at the mo, perhaps there waiting to see who's sutable to be sort listed on the last intake before openening it again, they may have enough. Fingers cross there's still plenty of places for ya.

I've heard that they need a further 150 for next year as well. This is from a SJA WA source. Might be worth giving them a call. Can't hurt

That's just for your visa medicals, the actual visa application and sponsorship charges are covered by SJA.

Do family need medical then? I thought it was only me and then they would need medical when applying for residency.

That's right hertz, as far as I know.

Just filling my 457visa in and its a bit of a mare. It's says I need to fill the 956 form in, but if i dont need help i doesnt need filling in, right. Anybody get any help anywhere, think I may need a little hand with it, don't want anything delaying if anythings missed.
