Re: Would you buy a Jeep Wrangler ???
We rented one once, the seats were uncomfortable and didn't strike us as something we'd be interested in.....does that help?

The engines are great, no question, they run forever...its the...
Tubes (they leak fluid all over the place after only a few thousand miles)
Transmission...by far the worst ever put in a vehicle of any kind
Brakes...you'll be amazed how long it takes to stop
Electrics...don't let it get wet, you'll turn on your heater and the radio will go off
Corrosion..Jeep are well known for rust, make sure you check undre the floor pans and under carpet...especially in the front foot wells, this is a hot spot for rust...
having said all that...if I had the chance to buy one for 6K, I'd buy it in a heartbeat...its one of the only (if not the only) cars that I've owned and missed when it was gone.

Buy it. Full Stop.
Jeeps are more than a car. I love my Jeep...
Buy it with your heart, not your head. It guzzles gas (but I live somewhere where gas is cheaper than water so that helps!) but I have had no reliablity problems...
Are you safe and want comfort? don't buy it. Are you into some fun and getting out a bit BUY IT!!!!
just don't get stuck...

How can it be bad in snow - its a great 4x4?

Then you should have selected 4 wheel drive and the weight issue is no more as its not just the rear wheels working?

you owned one ... right Bob?

his was a rust bucket too with all the salt grits on the road around here, and they really do salt them up, more hassle than the snow at times *l*...but they do cause a fair bit of rust, maybe not on a new jeep, his was about 7-8 years old admittedly.
oh, and to add, both those guys lived in the apartment below mine, and we'd go out in the jeeps all the time to go out hiking, the gym, etc...
mate that had the one smacked up, his best motor was a pathfinder that he got afterwards, but that also got smacked up, by a deer, as it was $200 motor, he junked it afterwards, now drives a safe and boring almera *l*
