Hurricane Rita - neighbourhood unrecognisable, almost every big tree in our yard uprooted, neighbour's trees uprooted - and lying in our yard - dustbin still standing upright and in exactly the same spot. House unscathed. Cost thousands to move our neighbour's bloody trees and they didn't offer us a penny towards the cost
Thirty grand out of pocket when all told, (after taking into account the damage from the fire which happened months later when the tree people cut down a damaged tree and brought the power lines down with it
still, I am probably one of the few women on this forum who is able to say, without lying, that I've had six firemen in my bedroom. All at the same time.
