Did mine (federal and state) a few days ago. I've been using Turbo Tax for about 10 years now.

Doing ours tonight. My husband is the math whiz, but he knows nothing about US tax forms. This ought to be interesting.

Done with our taxes. This year was quite complicated, got married, moved from California to New York, sold a house, bought a house lol.

California refund has been approved, federal has been accepted, but NY is still pending. Does anyone know if NY are accepting returns yet or are they just a little slower at processing them? California was always very quick (filed last Friday and California approved the refund on Monday).

I'm pretty sure one year we paid an accountant that much to do file 8 years tax returns for us.

Not even started yet......still waiting on a few bits of info on 1099's. Last week February/1st week March is my target window for getting it done this year, which will be a few weeks earlier than normal.

Just given the info for our corporate returns to the CPA......this one always makes me more nervous than the personal return, waiting for him to tell me I've done the payroll withholding wrong, or overpaid the pensions or whatever....

Crap, our e-filing was rejected because I didn't get his prior year AGI or PIN correct or something. Eh, we filed as nonresident considered resident for tax purposes last year, married joint, so his AGI should have been the same as mine, but his new SSN that he didn't have when we filed last year is probably the holdup. Calling the IRS this morning to try to make some sense of this.

On the bright side, the system I e-filed through showed me a form I hadn't considered that got me back 200 extra dollars. Can't hurt

Update: IRS said there wasn't any need for him to provide a previous AGI or PIN. Well, OK. Resubmitted.

Further update: That did the trick. Accepted for processing. Wooo!

Its exciting getting a refund. So long as you can forget you're only getting a refund because you screwed up your tax contributions through the year, and gave the Government an interest free loan...

Perhaps worth noting, e-filing data is electronically stored *forever*, while those paper forms...well approx 10% of them are scanned and retained forever, the other 90% are shipped to warehouses and stored for 7yrs, and then destroyed.

True but what would be our option to get it 100% correct? When inputting into turbo tax based on salary alone we 'owed' $400ish until we started inputting deductions which turned it into a refund.

I wouldn't know where to start trying to calculate exactly what was owed on a monthly basis
