What's your LEAST favorite thing about the US?

I feel a bit bad regarding Elvatoloko, who seems unable to stop putting his foot in it. Its just a cultural difference isn't it?
Elvatoloko, American exceptionalism does not go down well, especially when it gets trotted out concerning things which are widespread and are considered normal in many many other countries, yes it is good that America does not take them for granted but I just think of that speech from Newsroom's first episode.
(in case you have not seen it)

So how many of you have got a variation of "What's it like to be living in a free country?". Maybe it's a Californian thing. My standard answer was "It's nice, but I thought I'd try living in America for a while." Usually went over their heads higher and faster than Concorde.

However, I was having a chat with a car mechanic and he was very surprised that I had moved here from the UK, and kept saying, "Why?"

I am a law enforcement officer and I carry a gun all the time so for me, it's part of life. Debating gun control in the U.S. is a valid premise but one has to realize that with more than 200 million guns out there, the cat's already out of the bag and no one will propose measures to get all those guns turned in or confiscated in the foreseable future.
It's flimsy thinking that equates it to being the same thing.

To be fair, I've got that a lot more recently. I used to get the opposite in the UK too. People asking me why we'd moved from California. Then again, I was working in Swindon at the time

OK, OK, I can hear Bob Mortimer saying "you just wouldn't let it lie" so I will shut up about this now.
