The Shining and Shawshank Redemption were both written by Stephen King (as was the excellent Carrie and Dead Zone). There have been good movies made of his stuff.

Wes Anderson movies are definitely an acquired taste, I can understand how people don't like them. However, for me, they're all fantastic, particularly Rushmore. His next movie is a stop-motion version of Roald Dahl's "The Fantastic Mr. Fox". That sounds pretty damn good to me.
I love Showgirls! The TV edited one is so funny, it made me laugh so much when I realised they had actually drawn little bras onto the girls!!!

"American Pie", very funny. The scene in the kitchen: Boy mounting apple pie on the counter & father walks in. Thats as funny as it gets.

In the version you saw, was he sh*gging the pie standing up or laying on top of it on the counter top when his Dad walks in?!?!

Well, in the other version, he's stood 'servicing' the apple pie with his pants down around his ankles & his back to the door, in walks Dad & sees what he's doing, said offender turns around, so Dad sees what he's really 'doing'!!!
