I love that I opened this thread
My daughter is in Pre-K and I'm getting used to all the expectations on holidays, but I have to say, I love them. So far the whole class and the other Pre-K class has been invited to ever single birthday party - kind of makes me glad we'll be at Disney for her birthday as that's a whole lotta kids!!
Her school has the same strict rules on treats only being store bought, which I understand, but I would love to have chance to share some British goodies with the class.
Oh - and the first time I heard the term "fanny pack" I was in stitches...

I remember being genuinely creeped out the first time I saw a Valentine's Day card in a store that prominently display that it was "To Daddy." (I lived in Thailand for some time.)
The Hallmark Demons are alive and well and sucking the $$$ out of your pocketbooks.
I genuinely would not be surprised if we ever saw a "Trash-Eating Stink Bags' Day"

...in January when they are 75% or more off. This year we bought enough cards from The Met to literally see us through another 12-15 years (assuming we don't become major celebrities in the meantime.)

I enjoyed your list... have to agree on all counts, except this one.
Tonne isn't just a spelling difference. A tonne is a metric ton - equal to 1000kg or roughly 2205lbs, and therefore 205 lbs heavier than a US ton.
We now return you to your regularly scheduled thread!
