You can still get Salt & Shake crisps in the UK, although they aren't as prevalent as they used to be - they are branded Walkers now instead of Smiths.

Yeah, but I haven't made one in years. Going to make one this weekend. Reminds me of making crisps soggy by pouring baked beans on them, that was yummy too.

oh, wow. Thanks for the reminder of the name , I was struggling to remember the name Smiths. Should have remembered, there used to be a Smiths factory not so far from my home town.

Yes you can - they still have the roast beef and pickled onion flavours but they don't do the prawn cocktail and smoky bacon any more, and again they are Walkers branded instead of Smiths.

No more prawn cocktail i can handle because nothing beats the prawn cocktail quavers. But no smokey bacon, thats a bit harsh.

Anyone know a good place to buy English crisps online?
I see Amazon has lots of them. $10 for 8 packs of Frazzels though.

If you are in NYC or close there is an Irish Butchers in Yonkers that sells "proper" irish sausages and bacon. http://www.butchersfancy.com/ On the same street- McLean Avenue there are a couple of small corner shop type stores that sell most things we missed from home, walkers crisps, birds custard powder, ready brek etc etc. They have a huge variety of British stuff imported and if we want something in particular I just talk to the guy and he will order it

Amazon is usually the best place, get a extra discount for setting up the scheduled delivery and just cancel the re-order afterwards.

Doesn't work so well if you try to add vinegar to make your own salt and vinegar crisps Soggy and horrid.
