I'd never heard of Slyman's before but if it is in Columbus OH I won't get there any time soon. As for the slab of congealed goo, I did select the most unappetizing looking picture from quite a large selection..!

I have eaten some pretty good corned beef sandwiches in NYC and elsewhere so I'm open-minded. And some pretty good salt beef sandwiches in Montreal & London.

It's in Cleveland, on St. Clair in a grubby area just east of downtown. Funny to see the businessmen in expensive suits lined up outside at lunchtime.

Nothing wrong with Montreal Smoked Meat (as the locals call it) either.

I know what the tinned stuff tastes like, it occasionally escaped its containment and got as far as Canada where it was served by my parents to their defenseless sons :(

Smoked meat sandwiches, I WANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There used to be a place in Sherbrooke that did excellent ones.
