I agree, I like the 'real' British canned stuff much better than the 'corned beef' here.....

I remember the big round tins of 'Fray Bentos' but I've never actually eaten it.

Those things were awesome, they could withstand a nuclear blast...the amount of oil on top when you opened a can was lovely...and yet those things still puffed right up and tasted...

...well they were great in a pinch when you found nothing else in the cupboard as a student and much nicer than a can of spam

Thar she blows!

May be dog food but it's miles better than what passes for people's food in this country.

On the plus side, Trader Joes were selling pretty good bangers for paddy's day :D

Excuse me Bob, I hope you're well but do you know where to get 'decent' bangers and 'decent' bacon...I'm in the pembroke/plymouth area but will travel for 'proper' bacon! That's the only thing i miss back from UK...proper bacon! If you can give me a heads up it would be massively appreciated!

Cheers!

Blimey....your way the way out there :D

Trader Joes for the bangers at the moment, other wise Whole Foods...but there's also the place in Peabody, pretty pricey and parking sucks the goat though....there's also British Delights out in Westford, which is even further of a hike for you I guess.

If you don't mind going to Hay Market, there's usually pretty good sausages there too, don't know about the bacon.

At a pinch, BJ's own brand bacon isn't to bad for streaky bacon, not the same, but it'll do, the thick cut stuff they do.
