Aha!

So that explains the rather 'strange' smell we get in New Hampshire when there's a Northerly wind blowing

There will come a day, albeit a sad day, when tonbob's inner workings will rebel and all this curry eating will become hell to him. Heartburn, reflux, stomach pain that lasts for days, bowels that refuse to work normally. It will come to him...oh yes, it will come

Why not just stir fry sprouts with water chestnuts and then add hoi sin sauce? Not sure a recipe is needed for that.

I have not eaten a soggy sprout since my grandmother used to cook Christmas dinner in the 1980s. Steam, stir-fry, roast - just never boil (unless you're careful and then using the cooking water for the gravy!). And never, ever use frozen sprouts (unless you're a complete sprout addict who needs a fix at 9pm on a Sunday night).

I reject your spouty rules. Frozen sprouts are essential for those of us that are lazy. All that peeling, little girly crosses.......urgh.

No-one does crosses.

Frozen sprouts do make good ice cubes for Bloody Marys and the like.

My Nanna did. And my mother in law still does. I can't cope with such rules!

The only rule is "don't turn them into a revolting soggy mess by boiling until you're sure they're dead"!
