i am fortunate and have houses in both countries so makes life easier to a degree....however if i had to choose one to live in permanently it would be the UK and so my reply to the poll is a very big GO

I think I have to vote "Go",just because of the health care here.
If health care was taken out of the equation it would be a very difficult decision because I like both countries.
I would like to be able to visit the UK a lot more than we do (so far we haven't been back in nearly 3 years)

I wouldn't want to retire here, but I'd love to be in a position to live in both countries...if it were just me, I'd probably find another country.

I haven't been here long enough to decide! Oh and unless and until we get Green Cards it won't be our decision to make anyway...

Count me as a 'never'! After about 20 years here, I got all nostalgic ('thanks', in part, to 'Friends Reunited'), and went back with a healthy dose of optimism thinking I would really enjoy it. Boy, was I disappointed! Starting with the stuffy air and lazy employees at Heathrow, an argumentative crowd at the car rental place, constant drizzle or worse, stores that didn't seem to want to sell me anything (when they were open) ... ugly modern developments ruining what was once a decent historical architecture, crowded motorways, expensive gas ... Restaurants where you could hear a pin drop (everyone whispering!) ... EXPENSIVE restaurants ... showers that didn't work ("don't anyone turn on the tap or flush the toilet, Uncle ... is taking a shower...!")
I had a great time in London for a few days before I returned, and I did enjoy a day or so in the 'Lakes' - real natural beauty - but overall, could I live there?
And let's not even start talking about working there!!
Now, my dream is to retire to Italy or Spain - where the food and weather are more cooperative.
Healthcare is a big concern for me here as I approach retirement, but I'm determined to find a solution - I can't let one issue ruin an otherwise perfect existence!
If Obama gets in, it will really be the icing on the cake (I came here when Reagan was in charge, and have suffered Reagan, Bush, Bush 2). I will finally be able to be proud of my president!

I'm down for a simple "Stay" at the mo; but as has been said no-one knows what the future will bring - but as opposed to the "One Day, maybe" option, we are currently planning on staying. Might fancy going back for a bit at some point (even a year or two) - but ultimately ending up here I would guess.

I just had a great weekend. At this point I could happily live in Seattle forever. I'm 28.
So many good countries and cities in the world though......
