reminds me when i first moved here i was at a posh do and a local lady told me her husband was called Herb and so i said tongue in cheek 'guess you call him 'erb' and she asked why so i explained about the herbs and 'erbs and she looked at me like i was nuts and avoided me the rest of the evening

i have to tell you this happens a lot, i simply do not get the american humour and they don't get mine

Maybe time to throw in the towel and move back home?
