Los Angeles has some of those wonderful places called hotels. Try using one of those.

How is it going to "arrive" when you don't know where you are going to be!

You don't need an SSN or green card to book a hotel, air BNB or even a motel. Nor do you need one to pay for a taxi or Uber to get you there!

Welcome to the US! As others have said there are many hotels in LA to satisfy all price ranges.
Arriving in America and instantly wanting assistance in my humble opinion does not bode well. While there are undoubtably many ways to live off the system here the 'pioneer' spirit and can do attitude will ultimately get you much further.
This is not meant to be harsh, if you really are in need of assistance there are many resources easily accessible using google in the LA area.

I just thought it was a bit cheeky coming on to a british expats forum in the way they did..... and then getting sarky with us for not being very helpful immediately. Maybe they would have better luck with irish r us or something???
