property taxes in California are approx 1.2% of purchase price.

Medical can vary wildy depending on type of insurance, how much of the premium your employer pays vs how much the employee pays. For example my employer pays 75% of my premium each month the other 25% comes out of my pre-tax paycheck.

Co-pays for treatments will vary due also to the type of medical plan you might be on, so no-one will be able to give a definitive answer. For example I pay $15 for a doctors visit and because I have an HMO any other treatments requested by my Dr are usually free or $15. My prescriptions cost approx $30, although some of them are covered by the new $4 prescription program that several stores have now!

OK well if you want to know about property taxes and health insurance, I'll let you know ours.
Taxes for our house annually are $1900
Health ins we used to buy ourselves for me and two kids (dh was covered from work) I paid just under $700 a month, then I had to cover the first $5000 of the bills to get the insurance to cover it all but 20% of each doctor visit for the rest of the year. Prescriptions I had to pay for the first $500 they paid the rest of the year (minus 20% of each prescription)

I would just say this to you, I thought that going to the USA would be just like moving to Spain (god help me) but it isn't that not all, no where near that.
The US are very choosy on who they let in, I applied for the DV lottery for five years now hoping for that rarest of chances to be choosen, and I have.

The people telling you on here have vast experience and quote stuff to you that you may not want to hear, but sadly its true, it is very very hard to get into the US and work without a VISA, and you need to secure one of those before even thinking about anything else, sorry mate but that's the truth of it.

a welder? haha...yeah, that's great, not a deep sea welder by any chance? That kind of niche skill you might have luck, other wise, sod all, and getting certified ain't exactly cheap, depending on where you live.
