I've definitely seen 'Radley' handbags and purses for sale in the Lord & Taylor department stores in New York City and New Jersey.

You can get them online too but they are more expensive than the UK. I love my radleys.

Re: London - Susan Handbags
Hi folks... sorry about the delay, but I guessed there was no interest since no one had responded in days. For those who are interested, I've contacted the textile curator at the Victoria and Albert Museum to see if they have more info.
In a nutshell, I'm led to believe that my great-aunt Lottie either worked at or owned the store in the mid-60s. One of the regular customers was a relatively unknown (at the time) actress named Jane Asher. Her brother, Peter, was half of the pop duo Peter & Gordon... whose best known song World Without Love was written by Jane's boyfriend - Paul McCartney. Sometime in late 1967, Jane and Paul were in the store and my great-aunt got their autographs on the back of a Susan Handbags business card... for her nephews in Canada - my brother and me. Jane and Paul dated for five years between 1963 and 1968.
Sheila and I are taking it to Antiques Roadshow in August, but I wanted to find out more about the shop before we go.

Great story! Is the "Antiques Roadshow" the same as the UK version and will it also be televised?

Hi Ian. Great story. Sorry about the thread diversion, but I noticed it was not getting attention.

Okay... update.
My great-aunt Lottie did indeed own the store. Susan was her daughter and named the shop for her. So... that part of the mystery, at least, is solved!
