You are presuming too much....no apology offered.
I realised that's what you meant before I posted my previous post...therefore I still standby what I said. Deedee offered to get him a ticket for just over $100...surely he could raise that amount without too much difficulty...even if it meant a little cash in hand work. I don't think people should be asked to donate money by a relatively new member for an unknown person. Like I said before if you wish to pay for his ticket fine...but I don't think you should ask others to do so.

I still smell a fish... let's see if any of that US entrepreneurial spirit rubs off on him!

Don't get me wrong I think you had the best of intentions...but I don't think this is the place to ask for donations for this particular cause.

Besides, my response was to Manc suggestion that we send it to Ray.
Apology accepted.

this post was made on a similar thread in the immigration forum:
Did you enter on visa waiver or with an actual visa?
You can apply for removal as a distressed alien at the local US CIS office. They may just arrest you though. If they arrest you, be sure to have a valid passport with you so they can remove you quickly without applying for a new passport. Also, appear at a major US CIS office near an airport with a direct flight to your country. If you have to make connections within the US to get to your country then that will likely create delays.
8 CFR Section 250 states:
PART 250—REMOVAL OF ALIENS
WHO HAVE FALLEN INTO DISTRESS
Sec.
250.1 Application.
250.2 Removal authorization.
AUTHORITY: Secs. 103, 250, 66 Stat. 173, 219;

Application for removal shall be
made on Form I–243. No appeal shall lie
from the decision of the district director.
[22 FR 9802, Dec. 6, 1957]
§ 250.2 Removal authorization.
If the district director grants the application
he shall issue an authorization
for the alien’s removal on Form I–
202. Upon issuance of the authorization,
or as soon thereafter as practicable,
the alien may be removed from
the United States at government expense.

Thank God! I was wondering how I could get rid of those damned Cybermen squatting in my garden shed.

Just snooping around about this form, there's a note in the FAM about it (well probably more than one). This is regarding future application for a waiver.
Expedited Removal
An alien who was removed from the U.S. under the provisions of section 235(b) of the Act (“expedited removalâ€) needs consent to reapply within 5 years of such removal. Consent to reapply is not needed by an alien who was:
– Allowed to withdraw his or her application for admission;
– Refused admission as a Visa Waiver Program applicant; or
– Refused admission at the land border and returned to Canada (using Form I-160A, Notice of Refusal of Admission/Parole into the United States) or to Mexico
Note: If the alien was only refused entry, there will probably not be a relating A-file. If the alien was held for an exclusion hearing, an A-file would have been created whether the decision was in the alien's favor or not. Therefore, the file would have to be consulted to determine if the I-212 is required.
• Removed as a Distressed Alien under Section 250 of the Act . An indigent alien is "removed after having fallen into distress" only if he or she makes a formal application on Form I-243 , and the request is approved. The A-file will contain the application, the decision, and verification of the alien's removal from the country. If ten years have not elapsed since such alien’s removal, consent to reapply is required.
More joy!

I am about to fit that description, having just carried out urgent repairs to a gutter down spout I have traipsed mud through the kitchen. My wife is about to render me considerably distressed if I don't get it mopped up before she comes back.
