Default Hello from NC

Hello, is there any other brits in NC??

We moved here in Dec 07, due to my husbands job, we have 2 kiddies a 3yr old boy and a 3wk old boy.

Settling well however it would be nice to meet other brits in the area.

Hello from Durham and welcome to BE! I see you're in the Charlotte area. That means you're much closer to Sue, the Admin.

Oh dear. It's probably the time of year. It will pass. Sneak up on you from time to time for no apparent reason....my time is usually around March, don't know why, just is. Throw yourself in to a project or something.....a cooking frenzy.

Hi there from Durham, NC. Is your spouse in the military? I can't really think why anybody would move there if it weren't for military reasons.

Funny! we moved to Fayetteville to 'live the american dream' nothing to do with the military!!.....but EVERYONE does ask that question! We actually have family here so thats why Fayetteville, wish they lived in California but hey ho!! Have you felt a huge culture shock?? i certainly have, didn't think it would be this different but really trying to adapt maybe i need to give myself a couple more months?!

It took me about 18 months to settle in Durham but you may find it takes you less time because you have kids.

There's plenty of Brits in the Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill area so if you're ever up this way, let me know (send me a PM).
