Garden Party Menu?
#1
I'm looking for some menu ideas for a traditional English garden party. Apart from cucumber sandwiches, Pimms and tea, I'm a bit lost.
Maybe I'm having an off day, but I'm struggling to find anything on the internet that can give me ideas. Any suggestions?

I was going to suggest quiche, but that's french..you could make mini quiches and call them flans??!!
voul au vents...again french..but I'm trying!!
my mum makes a really good sausage plait with puff pastry..like a very large sausage roll but you plait the top and add sausage meat, spring onions and hard boiled eggs in the middle.
Have a look at Nigella's page on www.foodnetwork.com might have some good ideas.

Poached Salmon ? Scotch Eggs ? Chilled Pea & Mint Soup ? Depends how much savoury food you want compared to just tea & cakes (lots and lots of cakes
)

Jelly and custard.
Coronation chicken salad or sarnies, (like Bob said; might be a bit dodgy having stuff like this out in the heat though).

Marmite sandwiches.
Lemon curd tarts.
Jam tarts.
Fondant fancies (I've seen those at World Market).
Yum, that sounds like fun.

Most of my ideas have already been mentioned:
Poached salmon and water cress sandwiches
Cucumber (and cream cheese) sarnies
Scones, jam and cream
individual Pavlova's
Fruit cake
Florentines
(all of which I made for my MIL and her friends on saturday for a mothers day afternoon tea)
