What are you talking about...If you set up or BUY a business using the L1 route (and therefore have a uk business, like I do) 18 months is general guideline as to the time it takes ...you can then sell your UK business ocne you have residency ...as for being an employee through L1 I have no idea what your boss will do ....

This 18 month figure? Where's it from? You do realise - technically - it's complete hogwash? An L1 visa holder can have a petition (either in EB-1 or EB-2 category) submitted for them the day they land in the USA.
