When we first moved to Indy we were driving home from a day out and its flat for miles and the weather suddenly turns bad - I looked out the window and in the distance probably 3 miles away maybe less (hard to say) I said 'oh look isn't that weird, there is a big area of cloud touching the ground over there right in that field'. (which was next to us)

It wasn't until the next day we discovered it was about a mile wide tornado that flattened a farm. What can I say - it didn't look like the twisters on tv and I wasn't expecting one
