Hairdresser asked me what I thought of my bangs, me thinking it meant my highlights I told her I would like to get rid of them. I walked out with a fringe about 2 inches above my eyebrows

I am off to the hairdressers this morning to get highlights done and my hair trimmed. I will be charged a small fortune and then I will begrudgingly leave a 20% tip.
Am I the only person who washes and dries their hair before going to the 'salon'?

I have very fine hair and my hairdresser back home was wonderful. I had been going to him for 18 years and he became a good friend. My daughters went to the same salon.
It was my one luxury and I never told OH how much it all cost
Going to the salon was fun, endless tea and coffee and for evening appts, endless wine
Here a lukewarm coffee if you are lucky in a paper cup! Rushed in and out, never listened to and home as fast as poss to wash it all out.
I may be old but I don't want to look like Phyllis Diller!!!!!
I have tried lots of hairdressers here with similar luck.
My teenagers can't wait to get back to the UK next week and get their hair done. Just wish I was going.

i never let them blow dry my hair - i always do it agian when i go home so i stopped letting them do it.. they do it crappy. I need mine doing too... yuk. in comparrison to germany here the prices are outragious.

I told my daughter to go to a reputable hairdresser and have her hair highlighted and styled. Afterwards my husband asked how much it cost...we looked at each other...hubby said it was one of those 'How much shall we tell him?' looks.
