Default Comfort Foods?

So now it's getting cold out, what kinds of comfort foods do you all like, or had as a kid?

Home made Mac and cheese has to be a fav here, especially with the kids.

Chicken or fish pie is definitely up there, but also fish/corn/clam/lobster chowder.

Chicken noodle soup for when feeling under the weather.

The missus really likes baked little weiner sausages in BBQ sauce, which I have to say is oddly pleasant and growing on me.

So what about you lot?

Stovies (stoved potatoes) with canned corned beef. Had it since I was a kid, and easy to make. Some people call it corned beef hash, but it's not.

I've only ever had stovies made with mince. Usually with brown sauce and beet root.

My go-to comfort food is ramen noodle soup, the dry packaged crap that's 100% sodium....but ONLY Ichiban brand!!! Not Maruchan or those other ones!

A good curry and a massive naan bread to soak it up, washed down with some Carlsberg Special Brew, or cod & chips or a pukka pie and mushy peas.

Back in the UK probably fish and chips or shepherds pie.
Over here fried chicken, mashed potatoes and white gravy

Can't argue with any of those.....apart from the Special Brew....last time I had that was about 30 years ago and I spent the latter part of the evening cuddling and professing undying love for a rose bush....
