A kaleidoscope was a nice toy for a kid to play with. Wonder if they still sell them?

Yes, they do. My daughter got one in her Easter basket this year.

I loved my brothers' train sets. There's something so fascinating about a world in miniature that mimics real life so well. The Lionel trains here are brilliant.

I used to have one of those miniature steam traction engines, I would run it up and down the hallway , until I burned the lino

Funnily enough somebody just asked me what it was like driving in the UK.

I said it's like driving in a train set.

We played all the well known already mentioned games but we also played a game where we put three wooden dolly pegs against a wall and another one on top of them - like a cricket wicket - and then we'd try and knock the lot down with a tennis ball or a bouncy ball.
Can't remember what we called it.

Played rounders on the avenue with four trees as the bases and the dog as a long distance fielder.

Water fights with empty squeezy washing up liquid bottles.

When it was raining we spent hours drawing and colouring, monopoly, connect 4, hangman and orange boxes, draughts, lego, frustration, jigsaws etc.
