I rented a car last week using my UK driving license and my US credit card registered at my house in Philly.

... but the OP lives in NY. Rules vary from state to state. What works for you may not work for him.

I was putting information out there for anyone who searches in the future, but I doubt this will vary. Entitlement to drive a car on a uk license is nation wide, and the rules of accepting a card registered to a non-uk address are purely company policy.

Yes if you are a UK resident...not too sure if you're not because you will have given a false address. Try talking yourself out of that one if you are stopped by the police or have to make an insurance claim because you have been involved in a RTA.

If you are resident in the US, one can only drive on a foreign issued driving license for a maximum number of days. This varies from state to state.

Some States are unlimited, most allow visitors far more time than the OP wil need.

Depends how long the OP has been in the US, surely. Several years by the sound of it. I'd second the thought that you don't only need to consider whether the rental company will let you drive, but whether you'll be legal if stopped/involved in an accident. Could result in fines or a very large bill if your insurance is invalidated.
