Possibly we'll be there soon ourselves. My wife is considering a job offer there and I'm self employed so could be on for Spring 08. I'd be surprised if there weren't any there besides you.

Yes. I used to travel that territory a few years ago. Love the winters.....but I'm no fan of heat and humidity.Summers here in Atlanta can be tough. My wife seems to thrive in the high heat tho' so I will have to get used to it I'm sure. Any truth to that whole 'ocean breeze' bit?

I wish there was David.....i suppose it really does depend on where you live, if you live near the sea it is cooler but houses are so expensive there, only for the rich and famous.......we live about 6 miles approx from the coast line. If you need any info on nice areas to live please feel free to ask us

Thanks. I'm a Realtor here in Atlanta so I have made some connections down there already. Chances are if we move - big if still - it will be in the Fort Myers area or the towns north of Naples. Bonita, Estero etc....
On the weather, I'm told its liveable Nov to May then heats up with high humidity from June to October. True?

Yes thats true David, bordering on the uncomfortable at times...Estero is up and coming, lots of shops especially Coconut Point, great airport SWFLA International....cheaper house prices than Naples....Bonita also very nice, quite a bit of new build going on there too...Personally, Im not so keen on Fort Myers...

Have you been to the English Pub and Restaurant in Naples - lots of expats go there or used to and it's owned by an English guy who has lived in Naples for 20+ years.

It's a real gathering place to watch big English rugby and football games.

Sometimes I go there over long weekends to get away from Miami.

Moved to Ft. Myers in October, after 23 years in Detroit. Am settling in well; having fun exploring the state (and enjoying the beaches). Not looking forward to the summer!

Hi
I live in Fort Myers for part of the year each year, and the rest of it in France where we have a holiday cottage business. Going back on 8th April.

It is very wierd watching a British film after a long time, and it is their voices that sound unusual rather than the ones we hear here every day!!

I miss my family wherever I am because they are all in the UK.

Perhaps we could meet up for coffee before you leave. And, I have an aunt who lives near Paris -Fontainbleu.

I'm stuggling with the fact that I'm losing my British accent - not sure who, or what, I sound like now!
