Seriously, as nanotechnology takes off we will be carrying numerous tags or artificial parasites which if not properly regulated could enable an authority to track us and do "oh heaven" number of things, like monitor our liver, diet, how many times we toss in our sleep, how much time we spend comfy on a couch, if we have a heavy night out we will get a print out and medical intervention c/o the nano-bots inside of us. If it read faster than actually going then you would never get done for speeding surely?

This was the case on cars until recently - mainly because speedo got more and more inaccurate the faster you went - and as it is illegal (in the UK) to show you going slower than you are - they were all over compensating. My mate still believed his 1986 1.3 cavalier did 130 MPH!! These days they are pretty accurate though - even at high speeds.

It was supposed to be about 5 MPH over reading at 55 MPH. so you would infact be doing 50 while the speedo said 55. It all had something to do with Bob Dole (or maybe his wife) I recall reading somewhere.
But, if you were doing a genuine 80 MPH and the speedo was reading 75 then you could still get a ticket.
