Proof thats the issue. Most times its one word against another. We turn up and get told "oh they did this and that I was totally innocent officer" and the other party says the same. We know its all bullshit but without a full accident investigation which can cost thousands and requires road closures, specialist reports hundreds of man hours etc we cant do diddly squat. Talking of wasting cash they seem to fly police choppers every night here I know back home it cost some ridiculous amount to fly them for about half an hour and I'm sure they don't really need them.
