Re: American Citizenship
This is true. It used to bother me that my sister used to scowl at me - "Jesus, you sound like a f***king American every time you open your mouth." Now, I can smile sweetly and respond "but, I am one."

Re: American Citizenship
I joined this forum yesterday and one of the moderators responded to a thread I posted on yesterday and she has got me thinking about perhaps seeking American Citizenship.
I have been in the US for 13 years. I came here through an inter-company transfer and have permanent residency. I never thought about becoming an American citizen and it has not crossed my mind. Now, I am considering it, but am asking myself if it's worth it. Considering I have no plans to move back to the UK, I've probably answered my own question there, but I am hoping to hear from others who have gone through the process and can inform me of the benefits - pros/cons?

Nothing will really change, but you will learn some fun facts like what side of the road people should drive on, how many stars are on the flag, how many national languages the country has. After all, the US must maintain quality standards!

(they toughened it up a bit.)

Biggest pro, that's in the wiki, is being able to leave the country if you wanted for extended periods of time, which can be really handy if you have sick/elderly relatives etc.
And it's a good tax break if your spouse carps it

It is a bit, but other wise, LPR does the job. It's a convenience thing for a lot of people, not just those moving to the US though, so I wouldn't read to much into it
