Problem with x-ray

Re: Problem with x-ray
Knightsbridge does have a monopoly and I was not implying that they don't. However, because it is the only place that intending immigrants to the US can obtain the medical needed for the visa, they can charge what they want for the copy of the original x-ray. In Canada there are several doctors in every province who do the immigration medical for the visa. The same when you need to have the medical done in the US for the I-130 and I-485 process or just an update on the vaccination supplement from the K-1 medical.
What I was pointing out is that in the US you have to pay to have copies of an x-ray done from the original for any patient. I've no clue if that is the same in the UK if you go to your primary doctor under NHS, a health issue requires an x-ray and you then need to seek the services of a specialist. In that instance does the patient have to pay to get a copy of the original x-ray to take to the specialist if the specialist is not affiliated with your primary?
I've no clue what you mean by this "There is no connection between the prices they charge and what's on the open market from civil surgeons in the US. " at all. No one, least of all me, were comparing prices between your country and mine.

Re: Problem with x-ray
After three long days, I heard back from KD about the xray (had to call them myself repeatedly though).
They asked for a second opinion, but eventually the xray was found normal by the radiologists. That was a huge relief.
I would like anyway to show it privately to a consultant, for my own peace of mind. Do you know if the xray copy is included in the immigrant visa packet sent after the interview? In that case, I suppose I cannot have access to it until I enter the USA, right? Would the CBP officer keep it or give it to me?
I don't want to give more money to KD, especially after how long they kept me waiting.

Yes, it comes in the packet from the embassy, but I don't think it's in the sealed package. Either way, you will get to keep the xray, the POE officer does not keep it.
however, my guess is that a US doctor will want to do a new xray anyway.

For future reference, it can do. Mine did, and latent TB did not stop me with my green card app. I'm still undergoing the treatment now and will be until August of this year. As long as it isn't active then it is fine.

Were you forced to undergo treatment or did you choose it yourself?

My husband had an issue with his chest X-ray the radiologist reading it saw an issue so we had to arrange a CT of his chest, the results were negative we sent the report to Knightsbridge Drs who then wanted the films, which I told them in no uncertain terms to bog off I hasten to add I am a senior nurse so I knew what I was talking about. Medical approved and now living in Texas since May 2017. Try not to worry it will all turn out okay.
