Guess that's another way of checking it I haven't used the Ceac as it always says refused/denied when I try that so I guess I'm still in the "normal" waiver list at moment, did your status on Ceac change before you were put on AP list?

Hi all, just had notification (5 March interview) that we need to courier passport to embassy. Which service did you use please if you have done this, and did you just send bar coded page with it, not other documents? Sorry finding the instructions a little confusing! Thanks in advance.

Reading the forums you need to apply each year, after the 2nd or 3rd year do you get a longer visa, or is case specific? My partner was convicted of single CIMT 30 yrs ago and nothing since....

Good luck to everyone else waiting. Thanks.

Decisions on waiver validity are case specific, although the Foreign Affairs Manual guidelines state that, in general, visas with a longer validity period will normally only be considered for applicants who have already received at least two 12 month validity visas.

Without knowing which US Consulate you were at, it's difficult to suggest the service. This is your first ever post on BE and you give no helpful information. Despite the name of the web site, people from all over the world post here.

Thank you for the replies. It was the London embassy. When we visit the web link sent it takes us through the DS160 paperwork again (what is needed) hence the confusion, unless I am being really daft. I assume only the passport is needed, and think a recorded delivery should be fine?

Thank you, the support on here is so useful.

Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application

Hi Everyone,

This board has helped put my mind at ease with alot of the things you experience and feel during this wait time.

My story is as follows: we fly out for Orlando on Sept 20th for my daughters dance group to perform in Disneyland, Kennedy space centre, universal studios etc, then onto a Carribean cruise, and finally a week stop over in Hawaii with just my daughter and partner.

CIMT 11 years ago, (stealing less than $30) from an employer which was all just a big mistake/misunderstanding, but being young, didnt stand up for myself and pleaded guilty to avoid going to court. But besides the point....

Interview on the 7th March 201 at the US consulate in Sydney, refused on the spot but recommended for a waiver of ineligibility on the spot. I did not at the time have my Police Check, but i did have my court papers and the consular officer was more than happy with that.

Fast forward, i emailed my Police vert off and said it was recieved by the consulate no worries.

Constantly checking the CEAC site, as one does as alot of people around this mark 24 weeks and a day, were getting approvals etc

I even put Washington time into my phone to see what times the emails could be coming through!

Anyways today i checked randomly again, and my status has changed from refused to administrative processing. No idea why, or what if anything else is required by me. Im hoping that it is just a mere formality of checking possibly randomly my record to make sure no more crimes have been committed (definately not) and that i will have an answer by the end of the week! Of course i know this could also be wishful thinking.

I will keep you all updated on my progress as i know there isnt much information out there about these topics.

Any advice would be great, but if you have none to offer, enjoy the read and my updates!

Have a nice arvo people,
Jay

Just further on my post above! Many response online say all applications technically go to AP as it takes a day or two to print the visa etc etc whilst others are stuck in it long term, they tend to be immigrant cases though, not b2 travellers...

Fingers crossed I just checked at a time when they were just getting it ready for me!

Admin processing following a lengthy wait, is usually a sign that your visa is now being considered. It has not taken all this time to make a decision... but only now has your application come back to the top of the pile.

I think you can expect to hear something very soon.

Hey Just Rite,

I'm in a similar position, being moved from refused to AP after about 24 weeks, you had any updates on your status yet? Best of luck...

Sorry to hear that mate, it's a shame it takes so long, definitely takes the shine off of things! Do you mind me asking why you needed the waiver in the first place?
