I am slightly worried as the dates I put on my initial DS160 have now passed. The dates would have been over the initial 9 month waiting time. But they have now passed.

When I had the meeting I was only there a couple of minutes but I showed proof of a family holiday, flight tickets (which where flexible dates, so I was able to change the dates) as well as proof of employment etc.

After the meeting I had, I got called and asked to return as the officer forgot to scan something and her manager was helping, and they said, this step would speed the process - not sure what part it helped….

but I am just waiting now :/ I am not holding hope, based on the fact the initial dates have passed on the DS160, bit who knows.
I wouldn't worry about the dates of travel, mine came and went last time I applied. And if you get more than a year visa you can go when you want.

Lurked for a few weeks while finding my feet. Can I be added to the spreadsheet ?

father had his interview in London 6th September 2024. Not his first waiver - we’ve been traveling to the states since the 90’s

this is by far the longest time we’ve waited. Were due to travel on 2nd August - obviously unlikely now and sad we’ll have to go without him. just frustrating given the process began in March 2024.

Fingers crossed for you. I’ve been watching the spreadsheet. I wonder if you’ll be in with us lot in early September as that’s when it looks like your medical was done ?

Welcome and delighted you have joined us here. 6th September 2024 seems to have been a popular date as you're number 5 in our sheet on that date.

Hoping that you all come in sooner rather than later.

Do keep us updated if and when you get news.

P.S. if I could ask, how did you find your way to this forum? One of the FB postings or elsewhere?

Line 133 on 14/08/2024 is still waiting. Given it's the 4th July today, hopefully they hear something early next week.

Welcome, 6th was a great day for us in London! often wonder how many/ if any people that are here here that were behind me in line that day.

Excluding any changes in policy, think very late July early August before us 6ers get an email, at the moment I'm thinking later the better as maybe it means they looked at it, but logic goes out the window. Hopefully things change and you get a quicker email with a decent travel history.

Here is a rundown of my journey:

Interview at embassy: 20 March 2025
Still waiting for the magic e-mail from the embassy. Anyone in the same boat still waiting?

Welcome @Tody10, great that you found us here. I have added your date to our tracker sheet, https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...it?gid=0#gid=0

Out of interest, how long did the consulate letter saying that they would recommend you for a waiver suggest the process would take. Our forum members are currently seeing wait times of approximately 11 months for those who applied in July 2024.

All the best for your wait, and keep us posted.

If you are still here jackotekk , do let us know...

Apologies for the radio silence.

Due to business travel commitments I had to request withdrawal of my passport from the embassy. When I picked it up, unfortunately it came with a notice that a VISA could not be issued at this time and that I have to restart the process if I want a VISA. For those conisdering this due to similar reasons, it may be useful to know that I received the email that passport was available to pick up 2 working days after making the withdrawal request.

I assume they took the opportunity to quickly clear out the backlog but it's possible that it was part of the processing - although I doubt it's the case due to the timing with the withdrawal request and having had a VISA issued previously. I've since learnt about second passports which I will be sure to have the next time I apply.

For record completeness: I made the withdrawl request on June 12th (7 weeks after dropping my passport off for visa issuance) and received the passport back on the 16th June (No VISA issued)

Hi jackotekk, great to hear from you but so sorry that you didn't get the visa after such a long wait. Had really hoped that you get a positive outcome. Rejections do now seem to be the norm unfortunately, even for those with more than one previous visa/waiver.

All the best,

jools

Sadly yes. Do take a look at the tracker if you haven't already done so.

You're currently on 280 days. Most recent London result was 342 days, with the 1 year rolling avg at 321. So you have some time to go still unfortunately. Also note that the limited data we do have shows an increase in rejections for both waivers AND visas, even when the waiver is granted.

All the best

jools
