CEAC status changed to Issued, Case Last Updated: 13-Jun-2025

Almost 14 months after my interview....

"The consular section has completed processing your application and your visa has been issued. If you do not receive your passport and visa within 10 working days, please contact the embassy or consulate where you submitted your application. If at any time additional information is discovered that indicates you may no longer be eligible for a visa, the U.S. government may revoke your visa. See Section 221(i) of the Immigration and Nationality Act.
For more information, please visit U.S. Embassy London."

I guess I will receive an email from Mailbox Etc. to pick up my passport?
What is the current wait period from the visa issuance date to when the passport is ready for collection?

I received my passport today. 5 years E2 visa.
380 days for waiver approval
39 days passport return
419 days in total

I had almost given up since other applications were being approved much faster than mine. But as they say, every case is different, so don't give up. I know how frustrating the waiting period can be, but today I have a big smile on my face!
I and my family are looking forward to being Nashville residents for the next 5 years.
Good luck to all...

Fantastic news. All the best for your business.

Interesting to note that your passport return time was identical to rmart.

I recall that I had experienced two secondary "grilling's" during my travels to the USA. One time, it was over fairly quickly and pleasantly and the other was more about sitting around. On the second occasion there was another Scottish chap and we just sat and joked by ourselves until called forward. I was simply asked "do you still work for this company?" I answered that I did and I was on my way.

On my 3rd, "grilling", I was expecting more of the same but I hit the jackpot and was grilled for 4 hours before being detained until the next night after being denied entry, when I was accused of a, thought crime, that I had never even imagined.

After 4 failed visa applications, I gave up.

It's amazing how badly you can be treated when completely innocent, with a fully verifiable history of compliant travel, to and from the USA, since 1987 (during my British Army days) and no criminal record.

We have finally received an email from US embassy to submit my husband's passport. The dilemma here now is that we have booked other travel arrangement that if we submit our passport, I am worried that we will not receive it on time..

any ideas what the timeframe is from receiving the passport back?

Great stuff, random and possibly invasive question, is your husband British? if he is, its not ideal but you can apply for a temporary passport for one trip, costs £125 and is in place for circumstances such as a "lost/stolen passport or when your passport is held by an embassy." Just an option, in case you didn't already know.

Congrats. Been such a long wait. All the best.

Based on the very limited data we have, the last 3 "returns" have taken 33, 39 and 39 days.

Hello! Yes, he is British and no, I didn’t know you could do that! Thank you so much for the tip atleast I can now breath freely knowing that we can request for emergency document if it doesnt come on time.

We’ve actually already dropped off the passport, and they told us it should be back within 2 weeks (fingers crossed!). That said, we know it’s taken longer for others based on what we’ve seen. Apparently, there was a bit of a mess recently due to the switch from DX to MailBoxes Etc., and at the time, Mailbox didn’t quite know the process. But it seems they’re up to speed now, so hopefully things will move more smoothly!

Orland0 Hopefully you hear something back this week 🤞 It’s been such a long wait for us such a pain! I still can’t believe it’s taken almost a year just to apply for the visa. Really hoping they give us a multiple entry as well 🤞🙏

39 days keeping your passport is ridiculous, I have to say. Glad you got it in the end, and I know we see some frustrating stuff from the Consulate on this forum, but that bit really takes the biscuit because it's so unnecessary.
