What facebook group is that?

Orlando Tips for Brits. If you use the search bar and write Visas or waiver of Ineligibility, you'll find the posts

From an interview in London today, feedback is that the applicant was informed by the official that because of the substantial backlog, the consulate is not currently making any recommendations for any waivers of ineligibility other than in exceptional circumstances.

Thanks for the heads up, that's super unfortunate. I really hope there is no knock on effect for current waivers in progress that have been recommended...

You have demonstrated an effort to obtain specific information in order to attempt to extrapolate what the process is. It is long established that the NIV waiver process is quite opaque. I find that this post is nearly completely opaque and provides no reliable information that LND is not doing waiver requests.

IMHO rumor mongering is to be discouraged.

I am reporting a direct statement from yet another applicant at the London consulate last week, that they were informed categorically by the Visa officer that they were making NO recommendations for waivers of ineligibility except in exceptional circumstances. This is the 3rd direct report in the last 2 weeks I have seen of this. In all cases, the applicants have stated that the consular officials have made it vocally clear to all in the queue (no privacy) that this is the policy they have been taking, and/or, they have spoken to others attending at the same time as them, that they were also informed as such.

Same incidents have been reported in 2 other forums.

So after nearly a year of waiting my husband finally got his email today … although not the outcome we wanted. Refused. Gutted! Makes no sense when we last had one in 2022 and nothing has changed…
Thank you to this forum for all the support, it has been invaluable.

Ah that's shocking, sorry to hear it, only solace is that you didn't have to send the passport off to then have it denied. Honestly think a certain category/percentage are just going to get refused now, regime change or to to get through the backlog.

Ah, this is so frustrating and unfair. After waiting almost a year, to be met with a refusal is just unbelievable, especially when nothing has changed since 2022. It really feels like they are just trying to clear their backlog with blanket decisions. I am so sorry you are going through this. You absolutely did not deserve that outcome.

Looks like the other denial in the past week was due to having not enough ties to the UK. The wife has posted on the Orlando Facebook page that after posting the passport, they got the passport back with the denial. She has said he is UK born and self employed. He wasn't asked to provide any other documents in the interview last year to show his links to the UK and has two children and a mortgage.

An almost year long wait for a waiver to be successfully granted, and then they refuse to grant the visa without even asking for additional documentation :-( I fear we may see more of these.

Prayers for those who are waiting.

This is not what anyone wants to hear, and im absolutely gutted that you should wait so long for a refusal and with no reason why. It certainly gets me worried about what im going to get. I had a 1 entry granted in 2007, 5 year granted in 2019 and 303 days waiting for response.
